From 13 April to 21 September 2025, the Dordrecht Museum is hosting the exhibition Carel de Nerée. Different from the others. The work of Carel de Nerée tot Babberich (1880-1909) is one of the most fascinating in Dutch art around 1900. His refined drawings, such as The Swans and Ecstasy: After the Sacrifice, evoke associations with the work of major European fin-de-siècle artists such as Aubrey Beardsley, Gustav Klimt and Jan Toorop.

Wereldmuseum Mahjong Set Featured in Holland Herald

The Mahjong Tiles set from the Wereldmuseum is featured in the February issue of Holland Herald, KLM’s in-flight magazine. Designed by Hong Kong illustrator Karen Aruba, this special edition set showcases blended cityscapes of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The set is sold in relation to the Made in China exhibition at Wereldmuseum Rotterdam, which explores cultural exchange and craftsmanship.

From Rembrandt to Vermeer – Masterpieces from The Leiden Collection

9 April 2025 – 24 August 2025 –

Featuring 75 works — including seventeen paintings by Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) that will be displayed together for the very first time — the exhibition will tell a unique story about Amsterdam and the lives of its seventeenth-century residents, as seen through the eyes of some of its most consequential painters. Other Dutch masters and prominent fijnschilders whose work is featured in the exhibition include Johannes Vermeer, Frans Hals, Gerrit Dou, Frans van Mieris, and Maria Schalcken.
