Eye Filmmuseum presents the first European solo museum exhibition by US artist and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Garrett Bradley. The exhibition invites visitors into her world: a rich blend of engagement and artistic experimentation, in which she critically examines (film) history and image-making from a contemporary perspective. In 2023, Bradley was awarded the Eye Art & Film Prize.

In the spring of 2025, Kunsthal Rotterdam presents a comprehensive overview of the work of the German expressionist painter and member of Die Brücke Max Pechstein (1881-1955). Pechstein’s dynamic and colourful compositions had a major impact on the development of the visual language of expressionism.

Over a period of five years, documentary photographer Angeniet Berkers (1985, Nijmegen) researched the Nazi Lebensborn programme, which was aimed at increasing the number of ‘Aryan’ children born in the Third Reich. She published her findings in the book Lebensborn. Birth Politics of the Third Reich. Accompanying the Dutch 80 Years of Freedom celebrations and commemorations, the Kunsthal will be presenting her work in the exhibition Lebensborn from 28 March.

In the exhibition ‘Glass, Made in Antiquity’ you will discover more than 200 glass objects from the archaeology collection of the Allard Pierson Museum. Transparent or opaque, in bright or soft colours, elegantly decorated and unique in shape; it is astonishing that the fragile material has remained so beautiful for centuries. Equally special is the craftsmanship with which the glass utensils and ornaments have been made. In recent years, the latest research methods have been used to fathom the technical aspects of glass from Antiquity. In the exhibition you can enjoy the beauty of the collection and learn more about the refined production methods of glass in Antiquity.

From 13 April to 21 September 2025, the Dordrecht Museum is hosting the exhibition Carel de Nerée. Different from the others. The work of Carel de Nerée tot Babberich (1880-1909) is one of the most fascinating in Dutch art around 1900. His refined drawings, such as The Swans and Ecstasy: After the Sacrifice, evoke associations with the work of major European fin-de-siècle artists such as Aubrey Beardsley, Gustav Klimt and Jan Toorop.
