H’ART Museum presents Chez Matisse – Masterpieces from Centre Pompidou, a major exhibition dedicated to Henri Matisse (1869–1954), one of the most influential pioneers of modern art. Known for his expressive use of colour, innovative compositions and iconic paper cut-outs, Matisse spent his career exploring the relationship between colour, form, simplicity and expression.
The exhibition brings together more than eighty works of art, including an extensive selection of paintings, drawings and cut-outs by Matisse. These works are presented alongside art by his contemporaries and by later artists whose work was influenced by his revolutionary approach to colour and form. Among them are internationally renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
Chez Matisse offers visitors the opportunity to discover Matisse’s artistic development and explore the lasting influence of his work on modern and contemporary art. At the heart of the exhibition is the exceptional collection of Centre Pompidou, which houses one of the world’s most important collections of works by Henri Matisse.
The exhibition is organised in collaboration with Centre Pompidou and is on view at H’ART Museum through February 2027.
