Karen Aruba designed this special edition of Mahjong tiles for the Wereldmuseum, showcasing blended cityscapes of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Her father, Ricky Cheung, hand-carved the outer tile with the characters helan 荷蘭, meaning “the Netherlands.” With her contemporary designs, Karen Aruba aims to promote and preserve the traditional Hong Kong craft of Mahjong tile carving.
