The story goes that Kintsugi may have originated when in the late 15th century the emperor of Japan got his Chinaware back repaired with staples. He ordered his craftsmen to come up with something more beautiful: gold repair. This art became such a hype that some collectors deliberately started smashing valuable pottery, only so it could be repaired with the gold seams of kintsugi.
With the ‘New kintsugi repair kit’, Humade combines this lovely old technique with new technology. By messy mending you emphasise the marks and scars of a product. This gives it a new perspective and beauty while offering it longevity.
You can use the new kintsugi repair kit on almost any other material next to ceramics. For example, you could choose to repair items made of glass, marble, wood and most hard plastics.
You can use the kit multiple times. Please make sure to read the Kintsugi Kit manual before use.
After repairing an item, we suggest to wait for at least 48 hours to use it to let the glue set.
Please handle with care and wash the items you have repaired by hand.
