Antoni van Leeuwenhoek
Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (1632-1723) was a Dutch scientist and is often considered the father of microbiology. He made groundbreaking contributions to science through his observations and descriptions of single-celled organisms, bacteria, and protozoa. Using microscopes that he built himself, van Leeuwenhoek was able to achieve unprecedented magnification, allowing him to see these microorganisms. His meticulous observations and detailed accounts significantly advanced the field of microbiology and our understanding of the microscopic world.
