A plasma ball is filled with a mixture of noble gasses and a high-voltage electrode. Bundles of plasma (ionized gas) that run from the center to the edge cause a multitude of colored rays. If you touch the exterior of the sphere the rays will move to your hand. The plasma sphere was invented by Nikola Tesla and is therefore also called a Tesla Sphere.
This variant has a 15cm sphere and a standard European outlet plug (220V).
