On Friday evening 9 August 2019, the Kunsthal Rotterdam launched a limited edition T-shirt in collaboration with high-end streetwear label Off-White ™. The Kunsthal x Off-White T-shirt is a response to “Street Dreams: How Hiphop took over Fashion”, an exhibition in collaboration with the HipHopHuis and guest curator Lee Stuart, about hip-hop and its influence on fashion and lifestyle.
Street Dreams
In collaboration with the HipHopHuis and guest curator Lee Stuart, the Kunsthal Rotterdam presented an exhibition about hip-hop and its influence on fashion and lifestyle from June 15 to September 15 2019. Streetwear is dictating the speed and aesthetics of the fashion industry and changing how that industry is developing itself. Hip-hop is THE youth culture of choice, dominating the charts as well as the world-wide street scene – from a source of inspiration for high fashion brands to making sportswear more accepted for everyday attire.

Off-White
The creations of Italian designer label Off-White form a bridge between streetwear and high-fashion. This lifestyle brand was founded in 2013 by Virgil Abloh, who works as the creative director of Kanye West. Off-White is well-known for its urban look, graphic prints and their iconic pattern with diagonal stripes.
