Junior exhibition – Sabi Suriname
This Surinamese ribbon is a part of the museum shop collection of the junior exhibition Sabi Suriname at the Tropenmuseum.
“A special discovery was made under the Tropenmuseum. A previously unknown world was discovered on floor -7 of the Suriname depot at the museum. Come to Sabi Suriname and see it for yourself.
In Sabi Suriname you will learn a lot about Suriname. You will learn about Suriname’s links with the Netherlands and the rest of the world. Cruise through Busi Kondre on a boat and play the game about the things you encounter along the way. Discover the Surinamese cuisine and do your shopping in the toko to make a delicious Surinamese dish.
How do you get to Sabi Suriname? You have to go deep into the ground and enter a secret world.”
Tropenmuseum Junior is the first children’s museum of the Netherlands. It is also one of the first of its kind in Europe. With its appealing museum concept (“see, touch, experience and participate”), the junior museum’s general objective is to encourage an open view of the world to its young visitors. Here, you step into another world. The subjects come to life and children take an active part in the exhibitions. They stimulate everyone’s curiosity.
