Azurite malachite is relatively rare; there are few sites. Only rarely do azurite and malachite form in the same place and then grow together. More often azurite-malachite is formed as a transitional form, when azurite changes into malachite by absorbing water.

This wonderful association between Malachiet, Azuriet makes this mineral a rock. Even though the two minerals are quite similar, Malachiet has little water but Azuriet does not, the evaporation of the water is the reason for that mystic greenish blue color.
