Quentin Tarentino introduced the “pretty gangster”: men in black suits with white shirts and black ties, as seen in the film Reservoir Dogs. This became an iconic image in the 1990s.
The tight black suit – a tribute by Tarantino to French Nouvelle Vague cinema – stands for the anonymity of the gangsters. Harvey Keitel’s suit was designed by agnès b – just like this leather tie.
Since Reservoir Dogs, these suits have stood for bad men and corruption in cinema.
