Irma Boom

until September 25, 2022

The Allard Pierson Museum manages the designer archive of Irma Boom (1960). From February 1 to September 25, a selection of these can be seen in the exhibition Irma Boom: Book Manifest. Not the end product, but the design and production process are central to this hall exhibition. Her working method can be followed on the basis of preliminary stages of seven projects. In this way, five sheets of printing reveal the graphic concept of her more than 1200-page ode to artist Ellsworth Kelly. Also included are projects for architect Rem Koolhaas, textile artist Sheila Hicks, chronicler Jennifer Butler, fashion group Chanel, fashion artists Victor & Rolf and artist Martin Margiela. The finished printed works can be seen in videos.
