Rem Koolhaas

Remment Lucas Koolhaas, born on November 17, 1944, is a renowned Dutch architect, urbanist, and architectural theorist, currently serving as the Professor in Practice of Architecture and Urban Design at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. He is often associated with the Deconstructivism movement in architecture and is widely considered to be one of the most significant architectural thinkers and urbanists of his generation.

Koolhaas’s work and contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 2000 and a spot on Time’s list of The World’s Most Influential People in 2008. He was also elected to the American Philosophical Society in 2014. While some view him as a self-important iconoclast, Koolhaas’s impact on architecture and urban design is undeniable and his work continues to shape the built environment around the world.
