Bulder (1898-1964) a v\u00e9cu et travaill\u00e9 toute sa vie \u00e0 Hoogezand. Son p\u00e8re \u00e9tait charpentier et sa m\u00e8re, fille de tailleur. \u00c0 quinze ans, Nico Bulder commen\u00e7a \u00e0 travailler dans une usine de machines, mais le soir, il prenait des cours aupr\u00e8s d&rsquo;un dessinateur naval et d&rsquo;un professeur de math\u00e9matiques.  <\/p>\n<p>En 1919, Bulder entra au chantier naval Gideon de Groningue comme dessinateur en architecture navale. Apr\u00e8s la faillite du chantier en 1924, il reconsid\u00e9ra son avenir et d\u00e9cida de se consacrer \u00e0 ses ambitions artistiques. \u00c0 26 ans, il s&rsquo;inscrivit \u00e0 l&rsquo;Acad\u00e9mie Minerva de Groningue, o\u00f9 il \u00e9tudia aupr\u00e8s de F.H. Bach (1865-1965) et A.W. Kort (1881-1976). En 1930, il fut nomm\u00e9 professeur de dessin \u00e0 l&rsquo;Institut Hommes de Sappemeer.   <\/p>\n<p>Anim\u00e9 par la passion, Bulder illustra de nombreux livres parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 sa carri\u00e8re d&rsquo;enseignant. Il acquit une renomm\u00e9e internationale, notamment pour ses gravures sur bois et ses estampes, r\u00e9put\u00e9es pour leur incroyable finesse. Bulder con\u00e7ut \u00e9galement des vitraux, peignit avec un talent remarquable des aquarelles de paysages de Groningue et r\u00e9alisa de saisissantes peintures \u00e0 l&rsquo;huile repr\u00e9sentant des sc\u00e8nes bibliques \u2013 des \u0153uvres o\u00f9, en tant que catholique fervent, les th\u00e8mes mystiques et religieux occupaient une place centrale.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nicolaas J.B.
