ARMA yearbook National Military Museum special 50th edition

Specialists present various ‘finds’ and important research results. As usual, friends of the museum have a great deal of knowledge about objects and sub-collections, for which a platform is offered. There is therefore close collaboration with the Friends of the National Military Museum, as well as with the Netherlands Institute of Military History (NIMH) and the Rijksmuseum. Anyone with an interest in military history and ‘militaria’, national history and art and culture will find something to their liking in this edition. Arma 2019 starts in the Middle Ages and ends in the present. In addition, the contributions pay attention to all four branches of the armed forces. For example, we come from articles about halberds and armor production in the Netherlands, including the Waterloo hero Hendrik Detmers and the role of the gunboat Hr. ms. During D-Day Flores finally arrived at the replica of a Fokker C.X for the NMM, which has been built for 25 years. With a contribution about 75 years of women in the Dutch armed forces, a topical subject is provided. Finally, attention is paid to special objects or complete collections that are new in the collection of the museums. In short, Arma contains a lot of ammunition!
