Richard Wright in the Rijksmuseum

Richard Wright’s work is often short-lived, his intricate architectural decorations painted over after the exhibition ends. Not so in the Rijksmuseum, where he applied 47,000 black stars by hand, one at a time, on the ceiling of two rooms to the left and right of the Night Watch. Here, it is excactly in the right place. You see it, or you don’t. This book records Wright’s remarkable project.
