Collection in the spotlight

In ‘The Harbour’ the collection of the Maritime Museum, which covers six centuries of maritime history and is one of the best in the world according to experts, plays a leading role. More than seventy models of ships, cranes and dredgers are on display, as well as about a hundred paintings and photographs. These objects provide a wonderful picture of the developments in the port of Rotterdam. How did the invention of the container change everything there? And what was the tragic fate of the first Dutch ocean liner?
