Blau verweist auf die k\u00f6nigliche Ahnenlinie Westafrikas, Wei\u00df symbolisiert Tod, Sauberkeit und Reinheit. In den Niederlanden werden die Farben Blau und Wei\u00df seit dem 17. Jahrhundert auf ganz andere Weise mit einer \u201etypisch niederl\u00e4ndischen\u201c Tradition in Verbindung gebracht: Delfter blaue Keramik, urspr\u00fcnglich inspiriert von chinesischem Porzellan.
