On the 175th anniversary of the KNRM, the history of the rescue work has been described in detail. In this book the photos tell the story. With great care, images have been selected that show how the rescuers in the past did their job. To properly portray the KNRM of the 21st century, we have entered into a special collaboration with the well-known photographers Jeroen Hofman and Robin de Puy.
Jeroen Hofman is a landscape photographer and Robin de Puy a portrait photographer. Yet they have one thing in common: they both photograph from a unique perspective, which makes the photos always special and appealing. Hofman portrays the locations and equipment of the contemporary KNRM in his characteristic bird’s eye view. De Puy uses her camera as a tool to reveal special stories. She portrays volunteers with an interesting story in a sensitive and timeless way.
